Here's the part the industry doesn't put on the label. A polo isn't designed size by size. It's drafted once — on one slim base pattern — and then scaled up. The process is called grading, and every size above a medium is that same slim shirt, made bigger in every direction at once.
The problem is that men don't get bigger in every direction at once. You get bigger through the middle. So the pattern hands you width you never asked for across the shoulders, and it barely adds any length down the front — which is exactly where the fabric now has to travel, over your stomach.
That fabric has to come from somewhere. So it comes from the bottom. The hem climbs. The gap at your belt opens up. And you spend the day quietly pulling your shirt back down.
My dad and I kept running into the same shirt

This one is just extra length in the right place. The front of the shirt is cut longer through the torso than a standard polo of the same chest size — enough that when you sit down, lean forward, or reach across a table, the hem has slack to give.
No riding up. No cold strip of skin above your belt. No hand going to the hem every time you stand.
It reads athletic, not boxy
The reason a big polo makes you look bigger is that it's straight-sided. It hangs from the widest point of your body straight down, so the widest point becomes the whole silhouette.
This one is fitted through the chest and shoulders and then tapered at the waist. It gives your stomach the room it needs without turning the rest of you into a rectangle. You end up with a shape, and the shape reads as build rather than bulk.
The knit moves over your stomach instead of clinging to it
Most polos are woven, or knitted with no give. A rigid fabric has to follow every contour it touches — that's why a slightly snug shirt maps your torso like a topographic survey.
This is a four-way stretch knit. It skims. It moves across the chest and stomach as you move, so nothing underneath gets outlined and nothing gets pulled taut across the middle.
The waffle weave breathes — you won't sweat through it by lunch
Waffle knit is a textured weave with air channels built into the structure of the fabric. Air moves through it instead of sitting against your skin.

Questions we get asked
I'm between sizes. Which way do I go?
Down. This is the opposite of the advice you're used to, and it's because of the stretch — sizing up gets you back the tent you were trying to escape. Take the smaller one and let the knit do its job.
I have a big chest and a belly. Does that work?
That's the exact body this was cut for. The chest is fitted rather than tight, and the taper starts below it, so you're not forced to buy a size that fits your stomach and swims on your shoulders.
Does it hide a belly or just flatter it?
Flatter, honestly. Nothing hides a stomach, and any shirt that claims to is either compression or a lie. What this does is stop drawing attention to it — no cling, no ride-up, no straight-sided silhouette — so it reads as a build rather than a problem.
What's it made of?
A breathable waffle-knit stretch fabric with four-way give. Soft hand, holds its shape, and it comes out of a bag or a wash without needing an iron.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. No special cycle, no hand-washing, no dry cleaning.
Can I tuck it in?
Yes. It's cut with a straight hem so it looks right untucked, which is how most men wear a polo, but there's enough length to tuck cleanly if you want to.
Will it shrink?
Not meaningfully, washed cold and dried low. The stretch knit is more forgiving than cotton on this front.
I'm tall as well as heavy. Is it long enough?
It's cut longer in the torso than a standard polo at every size, so it goes further than most. If you're over 6'3" and long in the body, take the 3XL or 4XL for length even if the chest measurement points you lower.
